The derailleur features a new battery position and a reconfigured gearbox to better protect itself from impacts. To maintain crisp shifting performance and a striking appearance throughout its lifespan, hard riders can replace both the protective skid plates and the two-piece outer link, making this the most repairable derailleur SRAM has ever made. It also has the first derailleur cage and clutch ever that requires no tools for component replacement. With a steel inner cage that provides even greater robustness, the derailleur is made for real-world riders. Like all Eagle Transmission derailleurs, this derailleur features a unique hangerless interface, which mounts around the wheel axle itself and makes direct contact with the cassette without the need for a hanger. The new transmission derailleurs have the same intuitive pairing and setup procedure as our Eagle AXS derailleurs. The revolutionary Full Mount attachment method creates a much stronger connection because it grips both sides of the frame.
