The pads wear down gradually and need to be replaced periodically. A set consists of two pads, one for each brake block. Replacement is easy and only takes a few minutes.
Ceramic rims brake slightly better than aluminum rims and wear down pads faster. These Shimano pads are designed for this application and offer the right friction. They fit M770 and M970 XTR brakes.
Regularly check the wear of your brake pads. If the pad becomes thinner than 1 millimeter, replace it. Bad brake pads reduce your braking power and can be dangerous.
It is wise to always have a spare set at home, especially if you ride a lot. Original Shimano parts fit perfectly and deliver the best performance.
